The main commencement ceremony is the highlight of each Terp’s academic journey! On Monday, May 20, 2024, the University of Maryland hosted the main commencement ceremony at SECU Stadium, where we came together to honor the hard work, resilience, and achievements of Terp graduates. The student processional began at 6 p.m.
In addition to an individual school, college, or department ceremony, each graduate and six of their guests were invited to attend the main university ceremony. SECU Stadium opened at 5:00 p.m. The main ceremony featured our commencement speaker, president, and other notable speakers and honorees. Students were recognized as a group with their school or college.
In 2025, the main commencement ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 21. School, college, and department ceremonies will be held from Wednesday, May 21, through Friday, May 23. The exact dates, times, and locations of ceremonies will be announced in the Fall of 2024.
